DESCRIPTION: APW - Waltham, Appleton Tracy & Co, Model 1883, 17J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase, fancy white enamel SS impressed dial with intricate yellow details, gold and blue foil accents, blue numerals and signature, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-SS, nickel damascene, gilt regulator assembly and mvt screws, s#6005400. This example is highlighted by its beautiful ornate fancy dial.
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, winding disengages frequently unless crown is given some downward pressure when turning, setting is challenging as setting occasionally disengaging, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright plates with some micro-fine scratches, very minor oxide to regulator assembly, one mismatched non-gilt case screw; virtually flawless dial with only a tiny edge nick under bezel at 7; excellent hands; case shows very little wear, thin line of solder visible to band around pendant base, fine scratches to rear center, no dents or dings, excellent engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good thick glass crystal.
